My name is Peyton Watters and im from the great state of Louisiana. I'm from a town called Mandeville which is about 25 minutes north of New Orleans. I attended Mandeville High which is about half the size of MC, so adjusting to here wasn't an issue for me. That could be a reason why I feel comfortable being here.
I was asked to write about my experience here so far and how I felt about being here. Well, to tell you the truth if you would've asked if i would have been here a year ago, maybe even 2 years ago, Mississippi College wouldn't have been an option. I was actually Ole Miss bound until about December rolled around and Coach Norman Joesph called me and wanted to come up for a visit. I thought about what I should do considering I was ready to put football away for good. When I showed up in Clinton, I was familiar with the campus because I had family graduate here. I got to really see first hand for great people are here and there was something here that really got me re-thinking my future. About 3 weeks later I told my parents this Is where I wanted to be and i had a chance to ball again, why not?
Since I've been here I have met some great people. I wasn't use to this where I came from, people In Louisiana aren't necessarily bad people but the crowd here is just awesome in other words. Honestly about 80% of why I choose here Is to play football again and the other percentage I'd say Is to actually to excel in the classroom, In high school it was a different story.
I'm very happy having my first college experience here at MC. I haven't decided yet whether I'll be here for 4 years but the little time I have been here, I can't say I've had any regrets coming here. God has a plan for me and I know that he will lead me in the right direction.
